Who We Are

WebHostingEurope.com is operated by WebHostingEurope GmbH, registered in Munich, Germany. We act as the data controller for the personal data described in this policy, and as a data processor for content our customers store on our hosting infrastructure.

What Data We Collect

We collect the minimum data needed to provide our services:

  • Account details: name, email address, billing address and phone number.
  • Payment information, processed by our PCI-compliant payment provider — we never store full card numbers.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type and login timestamps, used for security and fraud prevention.
  • Support communications: messages sent to our support team via email, chat or contact forms.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to provision and maintain your hosting services, process payments, respond to support requests, send essential service notifications, and — only with your explicit consent — send marketing communications you can opt out of at any time.

Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data under the following legal bases recognised by GDPR Article 6: performance of a contract (delivering the hosting service you signed up for), legal obligation (tax and accounting records), legitimate interest (fraud prevention and network security), and consent (marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time).

Data Retention

Account and billing data is retained for the duration of your contract plus the period required by German tax law, currently ten years. Support communications are retained for three years. Data is deleted or anonymised once these periods expire.

Your Rights Under GDPR

As a data subject, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request erasure, where legally possible.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Receive your data in a portable format.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Submit any of these requests through your client area or by emailing our data protection team at privacy@webhostingeurope.com. We respond within 30 days.

Cookies

We use essential cookies required for login sessions and shopping cart functionality, plus optional analytics cookies you can decline. See our Cookie Policy for full details.

Third-Party Sub-processors

We share data only with sub-processors necessary to deliver the service, including our payment processor and transactional email provider, all of which are contractually bound to GDPR-equivalent standards and based within the EU or an approved adequacy jurisdiction.

International Transfers

Customer content and personal data are stored exclusively in our EU data centers. Where a sub-processor operates outside the EU, transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
